40th GCC Summit to be Held in Riyadh Next Week

  • The 40th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit will be held in Riyadh on Dec. 10.

The summit will be chaired by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani said.

The GCC ministerial council will hold a preparatory meeting for the summit on December 9 in Riyadh, he added in a press statement.

The GCC leaders will discuss some key topics to enhance cooperation and integration among member states, he noted.

They will also discuss the regional and international political developments, and the security situation in the region as well as its impact on the GCC states' security and stability, he pointed out.

Al-Zayani expressed his confidence that the 40th summit would result in constructive decisions so as to boost Gulf unity, and bolster ties, cooperation and integration among member states.
