The Saudi national team participates in the sixth GCC women's sport tournament in Kuwait which opened on Sunday and will last for 10 days.

Saudi Arabia is represented in this tournament by eight national teams:futsal, table tennis, fencing, taekwondo, athletics, athletics for thedisabled, bowling, and basketball.

Princess Nouf Bint Khalid, head of the mission, said in a statementto the press: "I'm proud to lead the Saudi women's team, and we are confidentof our players' determination to prove that they are as ambitious andconfident".

Princess Nouf expressed her happiness with the high level of the Saudi fencing and basketball national women teams on the first day of the tournament.

Princess Nouf added: "We will achieve positive and honorableresults flying the flag of Saudi Arabia in every Gulf, Arab, and internationalforum, and we live in a developed country that keep pace with the progress inline with the vision of the Kingdom 2030".

The Saudi women's fencing team opened the first Saudi participationin the tournament on Sunday, through Sarah Al-Salmi, Lynn Al-Fawzan, and AseelHalawani and got positive results.

In the basketball competitions, the green national women teaminaugurated its first match against the UAE, which ended in favor of the UAEnational team.

As the basketball competitions continue on Monday, the Saudi teamwill face Qatar and Kuwait with Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates with Oman,as well as the Saudi team for bowling in competitions held at the BowlingFederation Stadium.
