Al-Qasabi highlights role of newspapers’ writers as key in virtual meet

Minister in Charge of Media Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, during his virtual meeting with over hundred of male and female opinion writers; highlighted the significance of the great role and responsibility on the shoulders of the press writers.

Al-Qasabi commenced the meeting by conveying the greetings of King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, to the writers and their great appreciation of the role the writers play while wishing them all success.

He then spoke about the variables and reforms witnessed in all walks of life in the Kingdom; noting the significance of the great role and responsibility on the shoulders of the press writers, males and females.

He stressed their great responsibility in promoting culture in the society and raising awareness, tackling issues of interest of the readership as well as abiding by the objective, constructive and meaningful criticism to bring about public interest.

The discussions between the minister and the writers concluded with a call for the forming of mutual working teams, from the writers and the ministry, to act on different tracks; including setting forth strategies, plans to improve performance, and introducing creative notions.

The teams would also work on reactivating communication and relationship; between the ministry and the writers and contribute in presenting internationally-oriented media initiatives.

The two parties agreed to hold meetings; on regular basis in order to contribute to promoting media content as well as outlets. This is to best serve the local media, and the media around the world.
