National Grid SA, a subsidiary of the Saudi Electricity Company, has said that the electricity grid covers all parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to serve its subscribers in more than 13,000 cities and villages, stressing its continuous endeavors to develop transmission networks in order to enhance the service and reach all subscribers according to best international standards.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of National Grid SA Engineer Waleed Al-Saadi said that the company's plans and strategies aim to keep pace with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the strategic transformation program of the Saudi Electricity Company, which seeks to be the Kingdom's regional hub for electricity linkage between Asia and Africa by linking with the Arab Republic of Egypt's network after the completion of the Gulf electrical interconnection system, due to the Kingdom's strategic position between the two continents, in addition to the strength of the infrastructure of the electrical network in the Kingdom and its ability to meet the needs and requirements of electrical interconnection between countries. He added that the electricity transmission network in the Kingdom has witnessed a significant growth since 2000, reaching a length of about 84,000 km, as the number of existing conversion stations has reached 1093 stations and 3465 transformers with a capacity of more than 424,000 mega volt-ampere.
