The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition for the Support of Legitimacy in Yemen announced early Tuesday that nine civilians, one of them Indian nationals, were injured in an attack by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia, Tuesday morning, at Abha international airport.

The coalition command issued a statement detailing the terrorist attack: “Further to the statement issued by the Joint Forces Command of the coalition on Tuesday (July 02, 2019), a terrorist attack at Abha international airport carried out by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia, the spokesman of the coalition forces, Col. Turki al-Maliki, said that the terrorist attack led to the injury of 9 civilians, 8 of them Saudis and one of Indian nationality, who were all transferred to specialized hospitals and their condition is stable now.

Nine civilians, including an Indian national, were injured in the Houthi terrorist attack on Abha airport, through which thousands of civilian passengers of different nationalities pass daily.

Al-Maliki added that the Houthi militia continues its immoral practices by targeting civilians and civilian installations protected by the international humanitarian law and its customary rules, as it has claimed the full responsibility for this terrorist act by using a drone.

Al-Maliki said that the continuation of such acts of terrorism with high quality capabilities proves the Iranian regime’s involvement in supporting the Houthi terrorist militia and the continued violation of relevant Security Council resolutions nos. 2216 and 2231.

Al-Maliki stressed that the leadership of the coalition forces in the face of these acts of terrorism and the immoral violations of the Houthi terrorist militia continues to carry out strict measures to deter these terrorist militias in order to protect the civilians and the civilian installations, and that the terrorist elements responsible for the planning and execution of this terrorist attack will be held accountable in accordance with the international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
