The Arab Coalition on Tuesday intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone; launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia toward the Saudi city of Khamis Mushayt, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

In a statement, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said that the Houthi militia targets to target civilians and civilian facilities.

The coalition forces are taking the necessary measures to protect civilians and civilian facilities. This is in accordance with the customary international humanitarian law, the statement also added.

On Saturday, the coalition also said it thwarted an imminent hostile attack by a booby-trapped boat by the Houthi militia in the southern Red Sea.

Recently, the Iranian-backed militia has intensified its campaign to target civilians as well as vital installations in Saudi Arabia.

The attacks have also drawn condemnation from several Arab and Western countries.
