The Arab Coalition said it has foiled an attack launched by the Houthi militia using a booby-trapped boat in the southern Red Sea.

In a statement on Monday, the spokesman of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen also said that Iranian-backed militia continues to threaten shipping lines and global trade.

The militia is using the Stockholm Agreement as an umbrella to launch hostile attacks from Hodeidah, the spokesman added.

The coalition also repeatedly asserted that it will all necessary operational measures to protect civilians and civilian facilities. This is in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.

Amid the continued Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia; Riyadh's efforts to reach a political solution in Yemen are getting international support.

Last week, the European Union backed the Saudi initiative to end the fighting in Yemen.

In a statement, the EU also stressed the importance of implementing the terms of the initiative; which include a nationwide ceasefire under the supervision of the United Nations and the reopening of airports and seaports.

In turn, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also stressed that Saudi Arabia's position is clear in supporting a peaceful solution in Yemen; explaining that finding a comprehensive solution to the conflict is a top priority for his country.

He also vowed to continue working with partners and allies to bring peace to Yemen; saying that "the US appreciates the Yemeni government's commitment to finding a peaceful solution in the country."
