Arab Coalition intercepts, destroys Houthi-launched UAV

Arab Coalition on Monday morning intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia toward Saudi Arabia.

The drone attack targeted civilians and civilian facilities in the southern region of the; according to the spokesman of the Arab Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Brig. Gen Turki Al-Maliki.

In a statement, Brig. Gen Al-Maliki also said: “Joint Coalition Forces have intercepted and destroyed this morning (Monday); a bomb-laden UAV launched systematically and deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects.

“These acts of aggression to deliberately and systematically target civilians as well as civilian objects by the terrorist; Iran-backed Houthi militia amount to war crimes.

“Besides, the Joint Forces Command of the Arab Coalition will continue to implement all necessary operational procedures to safeguard civilians as well as civilian objects in accordance with the customary International Humanitarian Law.”

Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the deliberate launch by the terrorist Houthi militia of two bomb-laden UAVs towards civilians in Khamis Mushait, Saudi Arabia, successfully intercepted and destroyed by the Coalition Forces to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen.

In a statement issued Sunday, the Secretary General of OIC Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen also affirmed that OIC supports all measures; taken by the coalition forces to deal with the hostile actions of the terrorist Houthi militia.
