Cairo International Book Fair to Open on Wednesday

The 52nd Cairo International Book Fair, which runs until July 15, will open on Wednesday at the Egypt Center for International Conferences and Exhibitions with the participation of 25 countries and 1,218 Egyptian, Arab and foreign publishers.

Egypt's Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said in a statement today that the General Book Authority has announced that the maximum number of entries to this year's fair will be 100,000 visitors per day in a bid to prevent crowding in compliance with the precautionary measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The annual fair's cultural events will be held for the first time on the electronic platform, launched by the General Book Authority, which allows visitors to make virtual 3D tours into the exhibition's pavilions and buy books online.
