The Security and Defense Conference of the Chiefs-of-Staff of the GCC states and a number of other countries (Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Britain, the United States, France, South Korea, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, New Zealand and Greece) was held in Riyadh today to emphasize maritime and air protection, to discuss Iranian hostilities, and to participate in the capabilities required to protect the security and stability of the region.

At the beginning of the conference, the Chief of the General Staff, Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, welcomed the heads of the armed forces participating in the conference, conveying to them the greetings of King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz , Commander-in-Chief of all military forces, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, Crown Prince, the Council of Ministers, and the Minister of Defense, and their wishes for a pleasant stay, and their aspirations for the fruitful results of this conference.

Al-Ruwaili explained that the conference comes to discuss the challenges, threats and security and defense issues that surround the countries of the region, which contains about (30%) of the energy supply in the world global energy supply, shipping lanes account for 20% of the world's commercial lanes, this is equivalent to 4% of world GDP.

Al-Ruwaili said: "Today's meeting comes to find the most appropriate ways to provide joint military capabilities that achieve the protection of vital and sensitive facilities, as the region has been suffering from continuing crises since the regime of the Iranian revolution came to power, which adopts the principle of exporting the revolution to other countries, deviating from international norms, conventions, and treaties, spreading chaos by employing religious doctrine to serve politics, adopting and supporting groups, and forming parties and militias owe them absolute loyalty to destabilize security and stability in a number of countries in the region.

General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili asserted that the Saudi armed forces areproudly confronting all threats from Iran and its arms, looking forward to comeup with a position to participate in supporting efforts to protect theseimportant facilities and ensure that such attacks never recur. Abilities andcapabilities to address all Iranian threats and arms in the region.

Al-Ruwaili called on all to participate actively in strengthening the capabilities to address all Iranian threats and their arms in the region.

Later, the chiefs-of-staff of the armed forces discussed ways of maritime and air protection against Iranian terrorist attacks and ensuring the safety of maritime navigation.

The Saudi Chief of the General Staff expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Chiefs-of-Staff of the Armed Forces participating in the conference called by the Saudi Ministry of Defense, and their active participation, support, stand to maintain the oil capabilities that support the stability and continued to meet the world's energy needs.

Participants were briefed on the accompanying exhibition, in which they were briefed on the unprecedented attack and damage to vital facilities in Saudi Arabia, as well as Iranian ballistic missiles and drones that was intercepted, as well as images of Iranian terrorist means used to destabilize the region.

In conclusion, participants in the conference, through the finalstatement of the Security and Defense Conference of the Chiefs-of-Staff, unitedtheir position against the attack and aggression on Saudi Arabia, confirmedtheir determination to deter such aggression, which targeted vital Saudi installations,strongly condemned Abqaiq–Khurais attack, and denounced the previous targetingof economy and energy Saudi infrastructure, which is a direct challenge to theglobal economy and even to the international community.

They also expressed their full support for the Kingdom's efforts todeal with these attacks and affirmed the right of the Kingdom and its partnersto defend themselves and deter any other attacks in accordance withinternational law.

As a team, everyone was keen to identify the best ways and means toengage and support the Kingdom, focusing on the means and processes necessaryto defend and deter threats against vital infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, itsterritory, and territorial waters.

The detailed participation of the countries will be discussed atthe (Power Building) Conference to be held on November 4, 2019.
