The Arab Alliance announced that the Iranian-backed Houthi militia targeted Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia with a terrorist attack on Sunday evening, killing one Syrian and injuring 21 other civilians.
Ajel—A Syrian resident was killed and 21 other civilians were injured in an attack believed to be by a drone launched by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia, on the parking lots of Abha airport, on Sunday evening.
The rest of the injured were transferred to hospitals for medical care, Ajel sources added.
The official spokesman of the Coalition to Support of Legitimacy in Yemen, Col. Turki Al-Maliki announced: “It is at 21:10 Sunday evening, Mecca time, a terrorist attack by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia at Abha International airport, through which thousands Civilian passengers and residents of different nationalities pass daily”.
Colonel Al-Maliki said that the terrorist attack resulted in a Syrian martyr and wounding 21 civilians.
The coalition will issue a statement to clarify the details of the terrorist attack.
At the beginning of June, the Houthi militia targeted Abha International Airport with a ballistic missile, injuring 26 people of different nationalities. The spokesman for the coalition forces, Colonel Turki al-Maliki said: “A hostile Houthi fell in the arrival hall at Abha International Airport, which resulted in the injury of 26 civilians of passengers, of different nationalities, including three women and two children.”
The UN Security Council condemned the terrorist attacks, calling for accountability of those responsible for planning, implementing, and financing attacks on Saudi Arabia.
“We sympathize with the victims of the attack on Abha International airport and support the Saudi authorities,” the council said in a statement, adding: “It violates the international law and threatens international peace and security.”
On June 14, Royal Saudi Air Defense and Saudi Royal Air Force intercepted and dropped five aircraft launched by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia towards Abha International Airport and Khamis Mushait Governorate. The Houthi militias have consistently targeted Saudi civilian installations and objects in desperate and repeated attempts, without achieving any of the objectives of their hostilities.
