Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health recorded on Saturday 1,153 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking a slight drop from Friday's figure of 1,236.

The ministry reported 13 more deaths over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 473,112 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,663.

The ministry also recorded 1,145 recoveries over the past 24 hours; raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 454,404.

The Makkah region reported the highest number of new cases with 335; followed by the Riyadh region with 266, the Eastern region with 148, and the Asir region with 119 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom; with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 11,045 active cases and 1,496 of them were in critical condition.
