Critical cases near 1;300 as Saudi Arabia reports 1;062 new COVID-19 infections

Single-day coronavirus cases stayed above the 1;000-mark again on Wednesday with 1;062 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours; according to the Ministry of Health.

The ministry announced 13 more deaths over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the deadly virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 415;281 and the virus-related fatalities to 6;935.

The ministry also reported 867 recoveries over the past 24 hours; raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 398;454.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 458 followed by the Makkah region with 231 and the Eastern region with 136 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom.

According to the ministry; there were 9;892 active cases and 1;298 of them were in critical condition.
