Dhu Al-Hijjah month starts on Wednesday, Eid Al-Adha to be on Friday

Muslims urged to sight Dhul Hijjah moon on Monday

Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court announced late on Monday that next Wednesday is the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah month for the Hijri year 1441.

“After reviewing what was received from the courts and metaphysics committees in the regions of the Kingdom in this regard, it became clear that no one has testified to see the crescent after the sunset of this day, which means that tomorrow, Tuesday, will supplement the month of Dhul Qi’dah,” read a statement by the Supreme Court.

“Standing in Arafat will be on the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah month, Thursday, for this year 1441 AH, and it will coincide with the thirtieth of July 2020, and the blessed Eid Al-Adha on the following Friday,” the statement added.
