Director General of the UNESCO Visits Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture

TheDirector-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and CulturalOrganization (UNESCO) Audrey Azoulay visited today the headquarters of theMinistry of Culture in Al-Bujairi District, Diriyah.

TheDirector-General was received by Deputy Minister of Culture Hamid bin MohammedFayez.

Azoulay alsomet with Deputy Minister of Culture in the presence of President of the SaudiAuthority for Data and Artificial Intelligence Dr. Abdullah Sharaf Al-Ghamdi,who gave a presentation on the Authority's role and vision of the future ofculture, arts and education in light of rapid developments. They also reviewedgoals of the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit, to be hosted by the Kingdomin March 2020.

TheDirector-General visited Al-Turaif District in Diriyah, one of the nationalheritage sites in the Kingdom, which is listed on the UNESCO list of worldheritage sites, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Culture Hamid binMohammed Fayez and CEO of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority JerryInzerillo.

Azoulay wasbriefed on the historic district and toured its heritage buildings anddistinguished local architecture with its unique architectural style thatdisplays Najd architecture and reflects traditional lifestyles.
