First Saudi female ambassador in Washington to begin her duties

Princess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saudhas started her duties as ambassador to the United States of America.

"Princess Rima bint Bandar began her missionimmediately to strengthen the historic partnership between the Kingdom of SaudiArabia and the United States of America," Fahd Nazer, the spokesman of theKingdom's embassy in Washington, said, adding that the princess will work todevelop the strategic relationship and continue to build the main areas ofcooperation between the two countries.

The official spokesman of the embassy also said thatPrincess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan today presented a copy of her credentialsto the US State Department.

Princess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan is the 11th Ambassadorto the United States of America since 1945 and the first Saudi woman to hold thispost.
