The GeneralSecretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has participated in the 89thsession of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) that takes place in Switzerlandfrom 29 to 30 June 2019.
GCCAssistant Secretary General for Economic and Development Affairs Khalifa binSaeed Al-Abri and Director of the Monetary and Financial Department, at theEconomic Sector Saad Al-Kharashi represented the secretariat.
The session discussedthe annual economic report of the bank, the challenges facing the globalbanking sector and the importance of mixing monetary and monetary policies.
It also tookprecautionary measures to protect the macro economy, the role played byfinancial services technology, in the banking sector, to protect the financialand economic sector.
