GCC tax authorities seek to boost mutual cooperation

Tax authorities of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states sought to strengthen mutual cooperation. Besides, developing mechanisms for exchanging tax information; as part of the group's efforts for economic integration.

In a virtual meeting held on Monday at the GCC General Secretariat, GCC tax chiefs also discussed ways. This is to enhance cooperation to implement two unified agreements for value-added tax (VAT) and selective tax in the GCC states; in a way that contributes to facilitating trade exchange among the GCC member states.

Saudi delegation to the meeting headed by Governor of General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) Suhail Bin Mohammed Abanmi.

Commenting on the meeting, the GAZT governor stated that the authority's participation stems from its role in representing the Kingdom in regional and international organizations, bodies, forums, as well as conferences related to tax administration.
