Gulf Cooperation Council Chiefs of Staff hold meeting in Riyadh

At the request of the armed forces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chiefs of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held in Riyadh today the fourth extraordinary meeting of the GCC Supreme Military Committee, to exchange views on the current regional threats and situations with a view to achieving greater GCC military coordination.

In a final communiqué, the GCC senior officers affirmed the readiness of the armed forces of all GCC countries to confront and deal with any threats or terrorist attacks.

They said any attack on any of the GCC states is considered an attack on all GCC states.

The meeting also condemned the attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's oil tankers and the threat of free navigation, confirming their support for the efforts of the Kingdom and the GCC countries in confronting any threat or aggression against them.
