Gulf Cooperation Council Consultative Meeting Begins in New York

The Consultative Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) began yesterday under the chairmanship of the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Chairman of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council, Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Dr. Anwar Gargash, and GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, in addition to representatives from the Member States of the Council at the Permanent Delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to United Nations in New York City.

The Secretary General of the GCC said that the meeting discussed the joint coordination between the GCC countries to prepare for the ministerial meetings to be held with a number of foreign ministers and international blocs on the sidelines of the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in its 74th session, in addition to vital issues to be discussed with those countries, including developments in the region and regional and international issues.
