International condemnation over Houthi Militia Attempt attack on Saudi Abha Airport

Egypt expressed its strong condemnation of the Houthi militia's attempt to target Abha International Airport using a bomb-laden drone which was intercepted by the joint forces of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen. This incident resulted in the injury of a number of civilians and damages to a civilian aircraft.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Egypt affirmed its firm stance supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in addressing these terrorist acts targeting civilian areas in the south of the country, affirming its support for the measures taken by the Kingdom to preserve its security, stability and safety of citizens and expats against these heinous attacks which represent a violation of the rules of international law and a threat to the security and safety of civil aviation, air navigation and stability in the region.

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned and denounced the terrorist Houthi militias' attempts to attack the Abha Airport with two explosive drones, which were intercepted by the Coalition Forces, resulting in injuries and damage to a civilian aircraft.

The UAE also condemned the attempts of the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in a systematic and deliberate manner in Najran region, through a ballistic missile, which was intercepted by the Coalition Forces.

In a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UAE considered targeting the airport is a dangerous escalation and a cowardly act that threatens the security, safety and lives of civilians and passengers, noting it is a war crime that requires taking all necessary measures to protect civilian objects from Houthi threats.

The UAE has renewed its full solidarity with the Kingdom over these subversive terrorist attacks and reiterated its stance against all threats to the Kingdom's security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The statement emphasized that the security of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are indivisible, and that any threat facing the Kingdom is considered by the UAE a threat to its security and stability.

Kuwait condemned, in the strongest terms, the Houthi militia's continuing attempts to threaten the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by targeting Abha International Airport with bomb-laden UAVs.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a statement today, that the continuation of such aggressive practices targeting the security of the Kingdom as well as the stability of the region constitutes a flagrant violation of the international and humanitarian law, a development requiring the international community to act quickly and decisively to deter these threats and hold the perpetrators accountable.

The Ministry affirmed Kuwait's full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to preserve its security, stability and sovereignty.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf received here today the Minister of Education of Yemen, Tariq Salem Al-Akbari.

Dr. Al-Hajraf affirmed the firm position of the GCC in supporting the security and stability of Yemen and its legitimate government as well as all efforts aimed at ending the crisis in Yemen, in accordance with the three references of the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism; the outcomes of the Yemeni national dialogue; and Security Council Resolution No. 2216. During the meeting, they discussed the difficulties and challenges facing the education sector in Yemen, and ways of cooperation and partnership to meet these challenges and promote and support education in Yemen.
