Seeking to reduce the previous long procedures, Saudi Arabian Ministry of Justice opens the electronic issuance system of powers of attorney in different embassies, starting with Egypt's embassy in Saudi Arabia.

The Minister of Justice and the president of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, Dr.

Walid Al-Sama'ani, on Wednesday launched the system of issuing electronic powers of attorney through Saudi embassies and consulates abroad, so that citizens can directly work after reducing the previous procedures.

The ministry of justice said in a statement that it had worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to activate the system, starting with Saudi Arabia's embassy and consulates in Egypt, and to expand later to include the Kingdom's representative offices around the world.

Issuing a power of attorney through consulates and embassies was paper-based and used to cost a lot of time and money, as after issuing the power of attorney, it must be sent by conventional mail to Saudi Arabia, to be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then the Ministry of Justice, without being able to electronically terminate it. While the proxy can now act under the power of attorney upon its electronic issuance through the Saudi consulates, according to the statement.

The authorities dealing with the proxy can also verify the power of attorney through the Ministry of Justice's website, which can be viewed by the authorizer via the "Query" service through the Ministry's portal and its application on smart phones.

It also can be canceled electronically when there is no need for it.
The new system comes within the framework of the digital transformation of documentation launched by the Ministry with the announcement of the e-power of attorney early this year to support the directions of the National Transition Program 2020 and the vision of the Kingdom 2030, based on facilitating services to beneficiaries and access to efficiency of the operational expenditure of government facilities; as well as re-structuring the procedures make it fully digital, streamlining them, and striving to make them fully digital.
