King Salman Chairs Saudi Arabia's Cabinet Session at Al-Yamamah Palace

The Custodianof the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet'ssession held at Al-Yamamah Palace on Tuesday.

At the outsetof the session, the King briefed the Cabinet on the contents of the telephonecall with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, the results of discussionswith Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and the contents of the messagereceived from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Cabinetexpressed sincere condolences to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimur of Oman,the Omani royal family, the brotherly Omani people, and the Islamic and Arabnations on the death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, asking Allah Almighty to bestowmercy upon the soul of the deceased.

The Cabinetalso congratulated Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimur on assuming the reins ofpower, wishing him all the best in continuing the march to the Sultanate'sprosperity and development.

The Ministerof Media, Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah, pointed out in a statement to theSaudi Press Agency after the session, that the Cabinet reviewed works of the44th Session of the Muslim World League (MWL) Supreme Council held at the HolyGrand Mosque, with broad participation of leaders from 82 countries. The SupremeCouncil cited efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH CrownPrince, their keenness on joint Islamic action initiatives, and their supportfor peace and harmony efforts around the world. The Supreme Council alsoannounced establishing the "MWL Islamic Fiqh Council Award" and the"Makkah Document Award". The Supreme Council 44th Session reviewed theKingdom's care and attention to issues of the Islamic nation and its keennesson unifying it. The Supreme Council praised sincere efforts of Islamiccountries that are keen to adhere to what the Sharia established in meanings offraternity and warning against division.

The Cabinetwelcomed the opening of 12th Session of the International Petroleum TechnologyConference (IPTC) 2020 currently being held for the first time in the Kingdomunder the patronage of HRH Crown Prince, and was opened on his behalf by theMinister of Energy in the presence of a number of senior officials and headsand leaders of the energy industry from various countries of the world. TheCabinet stressed that the Conference, being hosted by Saudi Aramco, comes inline with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, as this industry reflects ongoing effortsin the Kingdom to make the global energy vision a reality.
