King Salman confirms Saudi Arabia's Condemnation of All Forms of Extremism, Violence and Terrorism

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has condemned all forms of extremism, violence and terrorism, confronted them with thought, determination and seriousness.

He also affirmedthat Islam is innocent of these acts, called to prevail the values of justiceover all human societies and worked to promote the peace and coexistence amongall people, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has established internationalintellectual centers and platforms.

This came inthe Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques's speech here today in the openingceremony of the international conference held under his patronage on"Values of Moderation in the Texts of the Quran and the Sunnah" anddeclaration of "Makkah Document", which is organized by the MuslimWorld League.

The speechwas delivered on the King behalf by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to theCustodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, who conveyedthe greetings of the King and delivered the following speech:

Praise beto Allah, and peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad

Dear attendees,

May Allah'speace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.

It is mypleasure to welcome you in Umm Al-Qura (Makkah) during the blessings of thisholy month, where the honor of the place and the time come together. Yousucceeded to choose "Values of Moderation in the Texts of Quran andSunnah" as a theme for the conference. Those values that underlie theKingdom of Saudi Arabia, which still confirm the integrity of this approach andits role to protect our country and to achieve its security, prosperity andpower in facing all attempts to mislead the community to be away from thismoderation of our Islamic religion, and emphasis on the purity of Islamic lawof every foreign thought as a result of believing that the religion is apurified law and not an arbitrary opinion, and that every opinion is notabsolutely infallible, with our appreciation of the scholars and intellectualsopinions based on clear evidences, which enriched the Islamic and human sciences.

In theKingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in light of our commitment to the principles ofIslamic law within its moderate horizon, and in light of our Islamicresponsibility for the sanctity of the holy Qiblah and gathering of Muslims, werenew the call to stop the racist and hate speech regardless of its origin andits reason. We also call for listening to the voice of wisdom, activating theconcepts of tolerance and moderation, strengthening the culture ofreconciliation and working on the Islamic and human common interests.

The worldtoday needs the best example, which we as Muslims are offering, that spreadinggoodness to all mankind in order to achieve the mission of our religion whereAllah The Almighty says: (And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as amercy to the worlds).

In thecontext of the conference, we appreciate the efforts exerted by the MuslimWorld League to fulfill its great duty towards its Islamic and humanitarianmission, I wish success to the conference.
