Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has condemned all forms of extremism, violence and terrorism, confronted them with thought, determination and seriousness.
He also affirmed that Islam is innocent of these acts, called to prevail the values of justice over all human societies and worked to promote the peace and coexistence among all people, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has established international intellectual centers and platforms.
This came in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’s speech here today in the opening ceremony of the international conference held under his patronage on “Values of Moderation in the Texts of the Quran and the Sunnah” and declaration of “Makkah Document”, which is organized by the Muslim World League.
The speech was delivered on the King behalf by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, who conveyed the greetings of the King and delivered the following speech:
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad
May Allah’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.
It is my pleasure to welcome you in Umm Al-Qura (Makkah) during the blessings of this holy month, where the honor of the place and the time come together. You succeeded to choose “Values of Moderation in the Texts of Quran and Sunnah” as a theme for the conference. Those values that underlie the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which still confirm the integrity of this approach and its role to protect our country and to achieve its security, prosperity and power in facing all attempts to mislead the community to be away from this moderation of our Islamic religion, and emphasis on the purity of Islamic law of every foreign thought as a result of believing that the religion is a purified law and not an arbitrary opinion, and that every opinion is not absolutely infallible, with our appreciation of the scholars and intellectuals opinions based on clear evidences, which enriched the Islamic and human sciences.
In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in light of our commitment to the principles of Islamic law within its moderate horizon, and in light of our Islamic responsibility for the sanctity of the holy Qiblah and gathering of Muslims, we renew the call to stop the racist and hate speech regardless of its origin and its reason. We also call for listening to the voice of wisdom, activating the concepts of tolerance and moderation, strengthening the culture of reconciliation and working on the Islamic and human common interests.
The world today needs the best example, which we as Muslims are offering, that spreading goodness to all mankind in order to achieve the mission of our religion where Allah The Almighty says: (And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds).
In the context of the conference, we appreciate the efforts exerted by the Muslim World League to fulfill its great duty towards its Islamic and humanitarian mission, I wish success to the conference.
