King Salman crowns winners of King Khalid Prize 2019

King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud patronized on Monday in Riyadh the honoring ceremony of the winners of the King Khalid Prize 2019 with its three categories Development Partners, Excellence for Non-Profit Organizations, and Sustainability.

It’s noteworthy that King Khalid Prize is awarded annually to increase competition for the best development initiatives and projects that record the impact of individuals, non-profit organizations and private sector enterprises in the development of society.

Royal sponsorship given to the Prize comes within the framework of the continuous leadership support of national non-profit institutions in all regions of the Kingdom and enable them to achieve the sustainability characteristic of their current and future projects, so that they are able to face the various challenges and continue to make achievements and qualitative and development initiatives in the community.

This year’s award was presented to 9 winners — The Development Partners award was granted to the developers of the Wateen app, which is a national platform for blood donation in the Kingdom and dr. Tamim Mohammed al-Ghannam, founder of the initiative received the award. Ehyaa initiative came second and my bike SA (Darrajati) came third for the same category.

As for the Excellence for Non-Profit Organizations, the first place was granted to the OSRATY association in Madinah. Women’s Charitable Society in Jeddah came second and Zahra Breast Cancer Association came third.

The Sustainability award was granted to Saudi Aramco’s Yanbu refinery that came first, Tata Consultancy Services came second and Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) came third.

Now in its 11th year, the King Khalid Prize continue its good approach in building a strong economic and social base depending on Saudis who seek prosperity in a society with equal opportunities. The Prize turned to be a tool to increase the positive impact of its target segments to realize the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and a source of inspiration for excellence in the development of society, the creation of creative solutions, and the adoption of effective practices in social responsibility.
