Saudi Arabia's KingSalman rang Iraqi President Berham Saleh on Saturday to discuss theimportance of de-escalating regional tensions, the Saudi news agency reported,after Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani was killed in a U.S.air strike.
The king told Salehthat Saudi Arabia supports the stability and security of Iraq.
During the telephone conversation, the latest developments inthe region were discussed between King Salman and the Iraqi President.
King Salman confirmed the Kingdom's keenness on the securityand stability of Iraq and the importance of staying calm and defusing thecrisis in the region, in addition to taking all measures to reduce tension.
For his part, the Iraqi President expressed his thanks to andappreciation of Saudi King, commending the Kingdom's interest in Iraq'ssecurity and stability.
