King Salman Orders Tighter Measures to Contain Coronavirus Outbreak

King Salman bin Abdulaziz ordered on Wednesday tighter measures to contain the new coronavirus outbreak in Saudi Arabia, reported the SPA.

Out of his keenness on the safety of citizens and residents and based on recommendations from relevant authorities; he also ordered curfew to start at 3 pm in Riyadh and Makkah, starting Thursday.

He also ordered lockdowns in Riyadh, Makkah and Madinah and banned leaving and circulation between the Kingdom's 13 regions.

The Kingdom has registered 767 virus cases and one death as of Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia had also first declared the 21-day curfew on Monday.

Violators will have to pay a fine of SAR10,000 and it will be doubled for repeat offenders.
