Saudi Arabia's Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has provided financial support for the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as part of his continual effort to support international organizations and commissions as per his leadership's keenness to play effective role in the most important regional and global organizations.
The financial support comes for a program titled "No Country Left Behind" which aims to provide assistance to developing states in order to augment the global effective implementation of ICAO's standards and policies in addition to contribute in the costs of translating documents and outputs of the organization into Arabic language.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Abdulhadi bin Ahmad Al-Mansouri, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his unlimited support for the aviation sector at the local, regional and global levels in order to develop aviation industry and raise the level of safety and security of civil aviation in developing countries, least developed countries and island states.
"Thisfinancial support worth one million US dollar for ICAO comes as an extension ofthe previous support provided by the Kingdom in 2016 which achieved positiveoutcomes in raising the level of safety and security of the civil aviation inthe Middle East and Africa.
For hispart, President of the ICAO Council, Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu thanked theCustodian of the Two Holy Mosques for this support for the second time,affirming that the Saudi support came as an extension of the continuous supportto ICAO.
"Iappreciate the Kingdom's support for helping us in establishing a solid base inorder to implement such initiatives in supporting the developing countries,least developed countries and island states in the field of air safety andcivil aviation security," he added.
