New coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia crossed the 250-mark once again with 267 infections reported on Friday.
According to the Ministry of Health, only two patients died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by COVID-19; marking the lowest single-day virus-related fatalities for the first time; in more than 10 months following the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 367,543 and virus-related fatalities to 6,368.
The ministry also reported 253 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus; to 359,006, with the recovery rate climbing to 97.67.
The Riyadh region reported the highest number of infections with 89 cases, followed by the Eastern region; with 70 and the Makkah region with 49 cases.
The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.
With the slight increase in new COVID-19 cases over the past few days, the active cases in Saudi Arabia also rose to 2,169; out of which 355 were critical.
