SaudiArabia: The Islamic Republic of Indonesia with a population of more than 266million and Bangladesh with a population of more than 166 million will witnessthe launch of the Mecca Route Initiative for the third year running at Soekarno-HattaInternational Airport in Jakarta, and for the first time at the HazratShahjalal International Airport in the capital Dhaka after introducing it'sapplication this year.

TheIndonesian and Bangladeshi authorities have shown their great cooperation withthe Mecca Route Initiative team on Sunday, while the team is deployed to thetwo countries, which are about 7,000 kilometers away of each other. The two countries will work at the same moment to complete the procedures ofpilgrims easily and conveniently.

Thiscomes as the Mecca Route Initiative continues its success in implementing itswork in the initiative countries this year in cooperation with a number ofgovernment agencies amid regulatory procedures that have facilitated thedeparture of hundreds of pilgrims so far from: Malaysia and Pakistan after itslaunch yesterday at the airports of Kuala Lumpur and Islamabad.

The SaudiMinistry of the Interior launched this initiative partially and experimentallyduring the Hajj season in 1438 AH on specific rates of pilgrims in Malaysia. Itincluded all Malaysian and Indonesian pilgrims in 1439 AH. This year, the Initiativeincluded Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Tunisia, targeting225,000 pilgrims.

The Ministrycontinued its ambitious plan to upgrade the services of the Mecca Route Initiativeto serve the pilgrims under the supervision and follow-up of Prince Abdul-Azizbin Saud, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Higher Hajj Committee, asa confirmation of Saudi Arabia's efforts in caring for Muslims and interest intheir affairs, including serving the pilgrims and visitors from all over theworld.

The Initiative,launched this season, has achieved high performance rates, starting with theissuance of visas to Saudi Arabia through an integrated system of facilities incustoms and passport procedures at the airports of the Initiative countries,which affirms the Saudi government's keenness to serve pilgrims in the KingAbdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad bin AbdulazizInternational Airport or Medina Airport.

The Initiative includes a number of regulatory measures to enter Saudi Arabia in coordination with the authorities in the Initiative countries, while facilitating health requirements and transporting the baggage to ensure that pilgrims arrive directly at their residence without undergoing routine procedures at the airport. The Mecca Route Initiative does not only end the procedures of pilgrims' departure of their countries, but also, they are welcomed with the flowers and Zamzam water once they arrive in Jeddah or Madinah. The Initiative secures the pilgrims' passage till they take the buses that transport them to their place of residence in an organized manner to perform Hajj and return home safely.
