Minister of Hajj and Umrah Opens 45th Annual Grand Hajj Symposium

Pilgrims start 7-day COVID-19 isolation before Hajj

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Mohammed Saleh bin Taher Benten opened today the 45th Virtual Annual Grand Hajj Symposium, under the title ‘Public Health Rules and their Scientific Applications in Light of the Prophet’s Guidelines and Practices’.

The Symposium was attended by a number of ministers, scholars, doctors and consultants.

The Symposium started with a recitation of verses of the Holy Quran.

The opening session held under the title ‘From Hajj to the World’ was chaired by Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Mohammed Saleh bin Taher Benten.

At the outset of the session, Dr. Benten delivered a speech in which he praised Allah Almighty for gracing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques, Islam and Muslims.

“From the era of late King Abdulaziz Al Saud until the prosperous era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always played a pioneering role in spreading Islam and serving Muslims,” Minister of Hajj and Umrah said, adding that despite the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was keen on allowing pilgrims to perform Hajj rituals in safe, health and security conditions.

Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh pointed out that the Kings of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took upon themselves to preserve the security, health, and safety of pilgrims, stressing that the Kingdom, since the era of the late founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud until the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, was and still taking care of the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors. Al Al-Sheikh indicated that the exceptional and careful organization of the Hajj season this year achieves strict performance of Hajj ritual, and preserves the pilgrims’ health and safety. He said that the efforts of the relevant authorities of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques joined forces to prepare to serve the pilgrims, citing that and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance was among those honored by serving pilgrims.
