ACWA Power and Thabat Co. inked a deal to build a 100-bed mobile hospital in Madinah to treat coronavirus patients. The new hospital has the necessary medical tools and equipment to provide medical treatment and healthcare services.

ACWA Power stated that signing the agreement falls under guidelines of Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman. This is to exploit the Saudi energy system potentials and capabilities in supporting precautionary taken by the Ministry of Health.

The agreement was also in presence of the Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman. Besides, Health Minister Tawfiq al-Rabiah and ACWA Power chairman Mohammed Abunayyan. Thamer al-Sharhan from ACWA Power, and Essam al-Muhaidib from Thabat signed the agreement.

Abunayyan expressed gratitude for the support shown by Medina Governor Prince Faisal bin Salman; in which he facilitated the procedures required to use the land for constructing a hospital. He also stressed that this hospital falls under ACWA Power commitment to contribute to collective efforts of the Saudi Energy sector.

ACWA Power expects the hospital to be finalized in a record time, then the new facility's contracts will be delivered to the Ministry of Health, he added. Construction works are to complete in 70 days from the agreement signing date.
