The Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned the series of terrorist bombings in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, including some churches and hotels, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of innocent people.

"These actsof brutality reflect with great pain the level of evil carried by terroristideology that threatens everyone without exception," Secretary General of(MWL), Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa said.

More than 200 people were killed and at least 450 injured in bomb blasts that ripped through churches and luxury hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, the first major attack on the Indian Ocean island since the end of a civil war 10 years ago.

Seven people were arrested and three police officers were killed during a security forces raid on a house in the Sri Lankan capital several hours after the Terrorist Bombings, many of which officials said were suicide bomb explosions.

Thegovernment declared a curfew in Colombo and blocked access to social media andmessaging sites, including Facebook and WhatsApp. It was unclear when thecurfew would be lifted.
