The Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has denounced the Israeli occupation forces' attacks on Palestinian worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, which resulted in the injury of 175 people.

The IPHRC expressed in a statement its complete shock at these brutal acts committed during the holy month of Ramadan, noting they constitute a serious violation to freedom of worship for all faiths.

The commission added that attacking innocent and defenseless worshipers using water cannons, rubber bullets and stun grenades is simply inhumane.

The IPHRC added that the Israeli authorities' hostilities and terrorism against the Palestinian people comes against the background of Palestinians' rejection of their illegal forced eviction from their homes in East Jerusalem which is an integral and inseparable part of the occupied Palestinian territory.

The commission noted that the occupation authorities' illegal acts constitute a war crime and that all those involved have to be tried according to relevant laws, calling on the UN Security Council and the Middle East Quartet members in particular and all the international community in general to take all necessary measures to oblige Israeli to stop its inhuman acts, including the forced eviction of Palestinians from their homes and the expansion of illegal settlement construction activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The commission also urged international to put pressure on Israeli authorities to ensure uninterrupted access of Muslims to their holy sites, chiefly of which is the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The IPHRC also called on the international community to take tangible steps towards reaching a compressive and lasting solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict according to the international relevant resolutions that guarantee the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state and the Palestinians' right to return to their homeland.
