OIC praises Declaration of Peace in Afghanistan Conference

OIC Secretary General Calls on Member States to Join Hands in Facing Coronavirus

Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, has praised the outcomes of the Islamic Conference held in Makkah, hosted by the Muslim World League (MWL) and under the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The senior scholars in the Republics of Pakistan and Afghanistan signed the historic declaration “Peace Declaration in Afghanistan”.

In a statement, Al-Othaimeen pointed out that this historic announcement reflects the great efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as the current President of the Islamic Summit, and its pivotal role in reconciliation among the parties in the Islamic countries, affirming that the MWL successful efforts confirm Saudi Arabia’s keenness to support negotiations among the warring factions and renounce all acts of violence and extremism in all its forms and manifestations.

TheOIC Secretary General valued the MWL’s efforts, which led to reaching the historic declaration and agreement to find a lasting and comprehensive solution, which will support the process of peace, reconciliation, stability, progress, and prosperity in Afghanistan.
