People With Obesity are Most Vulnerable to COVID-19 Infections, says Saudi Ministry of Health

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health announced Sunday that people with obesity are the most vulnerable segment to COVID-19 infections and its severe side effects, urging people to take the Coronavirus vaccine and implement the preventive measures.

The ministry has published an infographic on its Twitter account and its awareness platform "Live Well" explaining the obesity risks and associated diseases, including immune deficiency and blood clotting.

The ministry explained that obesity-associated diseases that increase the risk are diabetes, heart disease, "moderate to severe" asthma, high blood pressure, as well as liver and lung diseases and metabolic syndrome.
