A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey's largest city Istanbul on Thursday, sparking panic across the city, causing several strong aftershocks, minor injuries and building evacuations.
Initial reports showed 8 people were slightly injured andsome buildings sustained minor damage, according to DPA.
The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said the quake occurred at a depth of 6.9 kilometers in the Marmara Sea, off the Silivri district on Istanbul's European side.
