Saudi Arabia granted on Sunday 124 Saudi organ donors the KingAbdulAziz Medal, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The decision was taken after the approval of Saudi KingSalman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the honoring covered living and deaddonors, including 46 women.
According to the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation,the kingdom carried out 11,509 kidney transplant surgeries in the last 30 yearsand transplanted 921 livers during the same period. More than 376 hearts weretransplanted, while 650 hearts were used for human valves.
