Saudi Arabia recorded its lowest number of daily reported COVID-19 deaths with 20 fatalities in the past 24 hours. It also reported 2,852 new cases of the novel COVID-19 during the same period; raising the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 235,111, the ministry of health said on Monday.

The Kingdom has been recording between 30-56 deaths per day for the past two weeks; according to data provided by the health ministry. Currently, the virus-related death toll in the country is 2,243.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries in Saudi Arabia rose to 169,842. This is after 2,704 people recovered from the COVID-19, ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying.

Riyadh again topped the list with 258 new infections in one day. There were 235 cases in Jeddah; 203 in Hufof; 177 in Dammam; 170 in Mobarraz; 131 in Taif; 123 in Abha; and 115 in Najran.

The risk level of the novel COVID-19 outbreak in Saudi Arabia also dropped in the past nine days; according to a COVID-19 risk level map developed by a team of health experts.

The map, developed by teams at Harvard's Global Health Institute and Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, also determines the severity of an outbreak in a given country based on the number of new daily reported cases.
