Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that 499 new confirmed cases of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom.

The daily reported number of infected cases brings the total number to 540,743, including 5,858 active cases. Of these, there are 1,234 critical cases, according to statement released by the Ministry of Health.

"Ten new deaths have been reported, putting the tally of fatalities at 8,449," the statement added.

Meanwhile, as many as 877 cases have recovered, raising recoveries toll to 526,436.
