Saudi Arabia signs agreement with Dell to accelerate innovation in Artificial Intelligence

Saudi Arabia’s Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) signed an MoU today with Dell Technologies. The MoU joins both organizations’ expertise in emerging technologies to drive the development of engineering and technology projects in the Kingdom.

The MoU is designed to provide SDAIA with consulting services that will help them leverage solutions within AI, cloud, data analytics, enterprise storage, and more to fuel its digital transformation journey.

This strategic collaboration will also witness an exchange of industry best practices and expertise needed to develop integrated projects that will serve the needs of public sector entities’ technology across Saudi Arabia.

The signing took place during GITEX Technology Week 2020 between His Excellency Dr. Esam Al-Wagait, Director of Saudi Arabia’s National Information Center (NIC), and Mr. Mohammed Amin, Senior VP of the Middle East Dell Technologies.

The new MoU comes within the framework of SDAIA’s efforts to activate the National Strategy for data and AI, which was recently approved by the Saudi leadership, aiming to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data and artificial intelligence national-wise and the world.

His Excellency Dr. Esam Al-Wagait, Director of NIC, stated: “At SDAIA, innovation is at the heart of everything we do.

We are excited about the growth and opportunities created by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and we are constantly striving to deliver products and services that are developed around advanced emerging technologies.

We are delighted to partner with Dell Technologies on our ongoing digital journey. Dell Technologies has long been a leader and pioneer in Information Technology.”

On the other hand, Mohammed Amin, Senior Vice President, Middle East Dell Technologies, stated that “We are constantly aiming to cooperate with organizations to build their digital solutions.

We also look forward to strengthening capacity building in the fields of artificial intelligence and big data; in a way that contributes to developing the Kingdome’s knowledge economy.

It is a pleasure to collaborate with SDAIA; as they look to enhance their role as the leading technology enabler of Saudi Arabia’s vision for digital transformation.”
