Saudi Arabia won the membership of the Governors Council of the International Atomic Energy Agency during elections which took place at the 63rd held in Vienna for the 2019 – 2021 term.
Dr. Khalid bin Saleh Alsultan, President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, led the Kingdom's delegation to the meeting which was held from September 16 – 20, 2019.
In remarks on the occasion, Alsultan noted that the Kingdom's joining the membership of IAEA governing authority reflects the confidence of the world in the Kingdom's energy policies.
