Saudi Arabia’s Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Asir Region will patronize tomorrow the sessions of the First International Conference on Semi-Arid Mountain Environment to be organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in cooperation with Asir Region to be held in Abha under the slogan “Environment and Sustainable Development in Asir Region”.

The international conference will be attended by 50 experts from 17 countries, in addition to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the United States of America, Japan, Australia, Spain, Morocco, Oman, Jordan, Sudan, Malawi, Brazil, South Africa, Greece, Germany, India, Egypt, Lebanon, and Palestine.

The 5-day conference aims to discuss six main topics including urban development from an environmental perspective, forest conservation and development, rural development, wildlife, ecotourism, as well as sustainable water resources management.
