Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince chairs 3rd meeting of Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites chaired the Board's third meeting at Al-Safa Palace here today.

The Board of Directors approved the strategic direction ofthe Holy City of Makkah and Holy Sites and directed to begin preparing thedetails of the strategic plan for the Holy City of Makkah and its components ofprograms, initiatives, plans of action and partnerships for theirimplementation.

The Board approved the establishment of Holy Sites Companyfor Development as a closed joint stock company solely owned by the RoyalCommission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, and its headquarters in Makkah.

The company will act as the main developer and operator forthe creation and raising of the capacity of the Holy Sites for use throughoutthe year to serve the growing numbers of guests of Allah (pilgrims and Umrahperformers).

The Board of Directors also approved the provisions of theamended regulation to address the situation of undeveloped areas in the HolyCity of Makkah, in accordance with the powers of the Royal Commission insupervising the rehabilitation and improvement of undeveloped areas andaddressing plans to develop them socially, economically, their security andenvironment, which are contained in the organizational arrangements of theRoyal Commission issued under the Royal Decree No. A / 124 dated 11/4/1440 H.

The Board of Directors reviewed the proposal of governanceof project and operation management in the Holy Grand Mosque of Makkah, theproposal of governance of the transport sector and roads in the Holy City ofMakkah and Holy Sites, in addition to the proposal to establish endowmentsfunds for the Holy City of Makkah.

The Executive Director of the Royal Commission for MakkahCity and Holy Sites, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Farouk Addas, said that the decisionsand directives approved and issued today come within the framework of the greatattention being paid by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy MosquesKing Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to accelerate the achievement of the goalsfor which the Royal Commission was established under the leadership of HRHCrown Prince, to establish a sustainable future for the Holy City of Makkah andHoly Sites to provide best services to the guests of Allah and enrich thequality of life in the Holy City of Makkah.
