Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture signed here today twomemoranda of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Technical andVocational Training Corporation (TVTC).

The two memoranda aim to promote the educational andcultural programs and activities in the sector of education and createpractical paths for culture and arts in the fields of technical and vocationaltraining in order to provide an educational environment incubating nationaltalents in various creative fields.

The memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry ofCulture and the Ministry of Education was co-signed by Prince Bader binAbdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed AlAl-Sheikh, Minister of Education.

The memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry ofCulture and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) wasco-signed by Hamid bin Mohammed Fayez, Deputy Minister of Culture, and Dr.Ahmad bin Fahd Al-Fuhaid, Governor of the Technical and Vocational TrainingCorporation (TVTC).

The memorandum of cooperation between the Ministries ofCulture and Education includes aspects of joint cooperation in the field ofeducation. The two sides agreed to conduct an integrated study dealing with thepromotion and inclusion of the sixteen cultural sectors in the public andhigher education, activation of the initiatives emanating from them and implementationof the outcomes and recommendations of the study. The two ministries willcoordinate and cooperate in implementing the outcomes and recommendations ofthe national culture strategy in addition to update the relevant laws andregulations as well as to develop the capabilities of workers in the fields ofeducation related to the sixteen cultural sectors. They will activate thefacilities of the Ministry of Education to implement the cultural activities.

The memorandum also includes the cooperation of theMinistries of Culture and Education in implementing and facilitating licensingand permitting procedures for the educational, enrichment and extracurricularprograms and activities related to the sixteen cultural sectors in schools,universities, colleges and governmental and private institutes. The twoministries will enhance cooperation in developing and expanding specializationsin the sixteen cultural sectors in universities, colleges and governmental andprivate institutes.

The memorandum also seeks to consolidate cooperation in thefield of scholarship for specializations in the sixteen cultural sectors, toattract foreign universities and colleges and to facilitate the issuance of thenecessary permits for their establishment with the local and internationalpartners and shareholders.

Meanwhile, the memorandum of understanding between theMinistry of Culture and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation(TVTC) focuses on cooperation in the fields of training. The two sides agreedto conduct an integrated study dealing with the promotion and inclusion of thesixteen cultural sectors in training. The two sides will exchange informationthat enhances and develops the work and programs of the Ministry of Culture andthe TVTC. They will cooperate to facilitate the licensing procedures for theprivate training institutions related to the sixteen cultural sectors.
