Saudi Arabia's Follow-up Committee of COVID-19 Holds 88th Meeting

Under the chairmanship of Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the COVID-19 Follow-up Committee held its 88th meeting today.

During the meeting, all relevant COVID-19 updates and reports were reviewed. The committee discussed the epidemiological situation globally, as well as the cases reported locally. All precautionary measures carried out at the points of entry into the Kingdom will continue in full and will be further enhanced, the committee stressed. The Committee praised the citizens and expatriates for abiding by the curfew, urging all to stay at home.

Following the meeting, Assistant Minister of Health and Official Spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali said that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide is 4,651,119 cases, of which 1,700,354 cases have been cured to date. The COVID-19 death toll has jumped to 312,119.

Dr. Al-Abdulaali also said that 2736 new COVID-19 cases were reported today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that the new cases were reported in Makkah (557), Riyadh (488), Madinah (392), Jeddah (375), Dammam (286), Hofuf (149), Jubail (149), Taif (81), Khobar (51), Qatif (24), Tabuk (18), Dhahran (15), Baish (15), Bisha (14), Buraidah (12), Hada (9), Quraia (9), Hail (9), Sabt Al-Alaya (7), Abqaiq (6), Qunfudhah (6), Quoz (5), Rain (5), Yanbu (5), Aqiq (4), Hafar Al-Batin (4), Kharj (4), Diriyah (4), Khamis Mushait (3), Ahad Rufaida (3), Mahayil Asir (3), Qura (3), Umluj (3), Samtah (3), Muzaffil (3), Hotat Bani Tamim (3), Ras Tanura (2), Safwa (2), Thurayban (2), Namira (2), Haditha Port (2), Muzahmiyyah (2), Rijal Alma (1), Unaizah (1), Badayya (1), Arras (1), Khaybar (1), Khurma (1), Umm Al Dom (1), Rabigh (1), Shawaq (1), Najran (1), Sharurah (1), Shubah (1), Wadi Al Dawasir Ruwaidah Al-Arid (1) and Tamir (1).

Dr. Al-Abdulaali pointed out that the total cases tested positive for COVID-19 in the Kingdom reached 54,752 cases, of which 28,718 cases are active cases receiving medical care, and their health condition is mostly stable; with the exception of 202 cases receiving intensive care. The number of new recoveries is 2056, bringing the total recoveries to 25,722 cases. The number of new deaths is 10, bringing the total deaths to 312 cases.
