Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health announces Three Cases Infected with New Coronavirus

Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Thursday that the laboratory results confirmed that a married couple is infected with new Coronavirus (COVID-19) coming from Iran via Kuwait, adding that the husband did not disclose his existence in Iran at the Saudi port, resulting in his wife contracting the virus.

The MOH added that the laboratory results also confirmed a positive sample for another citizen coming from Iran via the Kingdom of Bahrain who is accompanied the first and second cases announced recently, bringing the total of infections to five persons.

“These cases are monitored due to the effectiveness of the epidemiological investigation which is applied in accordance with the highest scientific standards. The source of all cases is from Iran,” the ministry said.

The Ministry assures everyone that the cases are currently isolated in the hospital, affirming that the medical teams are currently dealing with these cases and providing health services to them in accordance with the approved health measures.

“The people in contact with the infected person were counted, and samples were taken from them for examination by the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control,” the ministry disclosed, adding that all results will be announced after a completion of the examination.

The MOH stressed that early disclosure of contacts contributes to contain the spread of the virus.

The Ministry of Health urged all to contact with the Health Service Center 937 for any inquiries about the virus, stressing that information is to be taken from official sources.
