Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health announces Three Cases Infected with New Coronavirus

Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Thursday that the laboratory results confirmed that a married couple is infected with new Coronavirus (COVID-19) coming from Iran via Kuwait, adding that the husband did not disclose his existence in Iran at the Saudi port, resulting in his wife contracting the virus.

The MOH added that the laboratory results alsoconfirmed a positive sample for another citizen coming from Iran via theKingdom of Bahrain who is accompanied the first and second cases announcedrecently, bringing the total of infections to five persons.

"These cases are monitored due to theeffectiveness of the epidemiological investigation which is applied inaccordance with the highest scientific standards. The source of all cases isfrom Iran," the ministry said.

The Ministry assures everyone that the casesare currently isolated in the hospital, affirming that the medical teams arecurrently dealing with these cases and providing health services to them inaccordance with the approved health measures.

"The people in contact with the infectedperson were counted, and samples were taken from them for examination by theNational Center for Disease Prevention and Control," the ministrydisclosed, adding that all results will be announced after a completion of theexamination.

The MOH stressed that early disclosure ofcontacts contributes to contain the spread of the virus.

The Ministry of Health urged all to contactwith the Health Service Center 937 for any inquiries about the virus, stressingthat information is to be taken from official sources.
