Saudi Arabia's coronaviruscases have exceeded 2,000 after 154 patients were diagnosed in the past 24hours.

Health Ministry spokesmanMohammed Abdelali said three of the new cases were linked to travel, while therest contracted the virus from other patients.

The Kingdom has registered2,039 cases, including 1,663 who are still receiving regular medical care, 41are in intensive care, 351 have recovered and 25 have died, he told a pressbriefing.

Earlier, the curfew imposedin Dammam city and the Taef and al-Qatif provinces was brought forward as partof Saudi authorities' ongoing preventive measures against the novelcoronavirus, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Friday.

An official source at theInterior Ministry said the indefinite curfew will now start at 3 pm, startingFriday.

The Interior Ministrystressed that the new measure is part of the necessary efforts to preservepublic health, urging the people to respect the guidelines.

Saudi Arabia had onThursday imposed a 24-hour curfew in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah tocontain the outbreak.
