Ali Al-Khadrawi's Table Tennis Men's Singles competition at Tokyo 2020 ended in an early exit after he went down in straight games to Lubomir Jancarik of Czech Republic at Tokyo Metropolitan Gym; on Saturday morning.

The 24-year-old Saudi lost 4-0 in the best-of-seven match and will take no further part in the Olympics as the Table Tennis competition; unlike other individual Olympic sports that provide second opportunities to progress; is played in a knockout format.

Having won a tight first set 11-9; Jancarik seemed to hit his stride in the following three games; which he comfortably won 11-5; 11-4;11-4.

Saudi Arabia's sole representative in the Table Tennis competition also had arrived in Tokyo in confident mood; after a 23-day preparation camp in Germany under the supervision of the Egyptian coach Youssef Rabie; but came up against an opponent that he had few answers to.

The Twitter account of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee thanked Al-Khadrawi; for his efforts and wished him luck for future competitions in the Kingdom's colors.
