Saudi Energy Minister meets US counterpart in Washington

Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih here yesterday met with US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, with participation by Princess Rima Bint Bandar Bin Sultan, the Saudi Ambassador to the United States.

The meeting discussed ways of enhancing relations between the two countries and investments in the fields of energy, industry, climate and technology.

The two sides also discussed the situation of the oil market and the Kingdom’s keenness on its stability, especially as the Kingdom is the reliable supplier of crude oil in the world.

The two sides reviewed threats to maritime freedom in the Arabian Gulf, stressing the determination by the two countries to work together to ensure the security of global energy supplies.

The Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources stressed the commitment of OPEC members and non-OPEC producers to coordinate production and strive to achieve balance in oil markets.
